Weekend Weather: What to Expect

Thunderstorms are on tap throughout much of the weekend.

Tampa Bay area residents hoping for fun in the sun during the weekend ahead may find keeping an umbrella handy is a wise idea.

While the weather will most likely cooperate for outdoor fun during the morning and early afternoon hours most days, rain becomes an increasingly strong possibility as the weekend moves forward. The National Weather Service anticipates Friday will be the mildest day of the weekend storm-wise with only a slight chance of storms and a high around 90 in most parts of the Bay area.

Things change a bit heading into Saturday when storm chances rise to about 20 percent and the temperatures are expected to fall a degree or two.
