Rain, Storms Expected Across FL Over Labor Day Weekend
Forecasters are calling for wet weather across much of FL over the Labor Day holiday weekend.
Though the Atlantic basin is quiet as far as potential tropical development going into Labor Day, wet weather is forecast across much of Florida over the long holiday weekend.
Here’s what to expect across the state’s different metro areas, according to the National Weather Service as of Friday morning:
Tampa Bay
- Friday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 104. South southwest wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 77. Calm wind.
- Saturday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 104. Calm wind becoming west southwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
