What's Open In Tampa On New Year's Day
The City of Tampa offices will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year's Day.

TAMPA, FL — The City of Tampa offices will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year's Day.
Residential garbage customers will not be affected by this closure since there are no Wednesday collections.
Commercial garbage customers will not receive collection service on Wednesday, Jan. 1. The revised collection schedule is as follows:

- Commercial customers who normally receive service on Wednesday, Jan. 1, will receive service on Thursday, Jan. 2. Collection service will continue to run one day behind through Saturday, Jan. 4. Regular Solid Waste collection service schedules will resume Monday, Jan. 6.
- McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House at 114 S. 34th St. will be closed on New Year’s Day and will reopen with regularly scheduled hours on Thursday, Jan. 2.
City residents will receive curbside Christmas tree collection service at no additional charge. Christmas tree collection begins Monday, Dec. 30, and will run through Friday Jan. 10.
To take advantage of this service, residents must remove all decorations and lights, cut tree limbs to four-foot lengths, bundle and place curbside on their regularly scheduled yard waste collection day. Any discarded lights or decorations should be placed in the garbage cart (not recycling cart).
NOTE: New Tampa residents are encouraged to contact Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management at 813-272-5680 for their holiday collection schedule.
