When Does Daylight Saving Time 2015 Start in Tampa Bay?

Spring those clocks forward this Sunday.

Waking up in the morning is about to get just a little bit harder for some.

Daylight Saving Time arrives this Sunday, March 8, at 2 a.m.

That means clocks need to spring forward for those who want to be on time in the weeks and months ahead. Be sure to remember to move those manual clocks forward and check the readings on those that are set to switch automatically just to make sure they do.

In the Tampa Bay area, water and fire departments both are reminding that Daylight Saving Time is also the time to do a little maintenance around the house. Fire departments urge residents to change the batteries on their smoke detectors and make sure the devices are operating as they should be.

Water departments also recommend those who used timed sprinkler systems to remember to check their irrigation system controllers Sunday morning.

“When making time changes, residents should also check their programs to make sure they are
irrigating only on their assigned days and times,” the Tampa Water Department advises.

Bay area residents should check with their water departments directly for assigned days and times.

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Nov. 1 when the clocks go back an hour once more.
