
The workweek kicked off with sunshine and blue skies throughout much of the Tampa Bay area, but forecasters say residents may want to prepare for a little rain.
According to the National Weather Service, scattered thunderstorms and showers are possible daily this week with highs expected to be a bit cooler as a result. Here’s a look at the forecast for the days ahead:
Monday
- High temperature – Low 90s in much of the Bay area
- Low temperature – Upper 70s
- Rain chances – About 30 percent in the day and evening hours
Tuesday
- High temperature – Around 90 in much of the Bay area
- Low temperature – Upper 70s
- Rain chances – About 50 percent in the daytime hours and 30 percent overnight
Wednesday
- High temperature – Upper 80s to low 90s
- Low temperature – Upper 70s to low 80s
- Rain chances - About 40 percent in the daytime hours and 30 percent overnight
Thursday
- High temperature – Low 90s
- Low temperature – Upper 70s to low 80s
- Rain chances – About 40 percent during the day and 30 percent overnight
Friday
- High temperature – Low 90s
- Low temperature – Upper 70s to low 80s
- Rain chances – About 50 percent
Forecasters warned that scattered thunderstorms that develop throughout the week may produce strong, gusty winds, small hail, locally heavy rainfall and frequent lightning strikes.
