Workweek Weather: What to Expect

Find out what's in store for the Tampa Bay area as the week gets under way.

Tampa Bay area residents might want to keep those umbrellas handy as the workweek kicks off.

The National Weather Service is predicting a wet start to the week with rain chances in the 30 percent range both Monday and Tuesday. While the highs both days are expected to reach the balmy mid-80s, some of the storms that move through could be strong.

The weather service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook report for the week warning of the potential for afternoon thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday with a possibility also on Wednesday. Those storms are anticipated to appear across the region Monday and mainly north of the Interstate 4 corridor on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Rain chances drop going into Wednesday and Thursday with highs around the mid-80s expected and lows down around 70 for most of the region. Storm chances return on Friday with a 30 percent possibility in the cards as of Monday morning’s forecast.
