Workweek Weather: What to Expect
The shortened workweek delivers diminishing storm chances in Tampa Bay, but that doesn't mean a little rain won't fall.

With the long Memorial Day holiday behind us and the workweek officially under way, Tampa Bay area residents wondering what’s in store weather-wise will find conditions a bit drier than over the weekend.
While Tuesday is anticipated to kick things off with a 30 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms in most parts of the region, the likelihood of rain drops as the week moves forward. Tuesday’s high is expected to be the hottest of the week with a steamy 92 degrees forecast in the Tampa area. Overnight lows will drop to about 73.
Wednesday arrives with slightly cooler temperatures and a 10 percent chance of storms in the afternoon and evening hours. Thursday’s rain chances rise to about 20 percent, but the high isn’t expected to break the 90-degree mark. Friday is a near repeat of Thursday in rain chances and temperatures.

Forecasters are warning that storms that do develop over the week will have the potential to produce strong, gusty winds, heavy rainfall, small hail and frequent lightning strikes.
While the workweek should bring lower rain chances, forecasters say the story will not be the same for the weekend. Saturday is anticipated to deliver a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms.
