Just in time for National Taco Day Oct. 4, Xtreme Tacos has opened its new location at 223 S. Howard Avenue.
TAMPA, FL — Just in time for National Taco Day Oct. 4, Xtreme Tacos has opened its new location at 223 S. Howard Avenue.
Previously located at 310 Waters Ave., Xtreme Tacos has been mobile for the past two years, taking its food trucks to events around Tampa Bay.
Now fans of Xtreme Tacos' Tijuana-style dishes don't have to hunt down the food truck. Taco lovers can enjoy Extreme Tacos' hefty portions Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. in South Tampa, courtesy of owners Sofie Warrenbrand and Chef Uzi Ramirez.

Ramirez learned his cooking techniques from his mother who always made traditional handmade tortillas out of masa. Ramirez has taken those techniques to the extreme, with Mexican-American fusion that includes Tijuana and Xtreme taco versions with carnitas (slow-cooked pork), carne asada (marinated flank steak), grouper, Chorizo, sauteed portabella with green peppers and onions, barbecoa beef or chicken and fried Sriracha cauliflower.
Xtreme Tacos is also known for its 14-inch burritos, including the Buffalo Burrito with tempura battered shrimp or breaded chicken covered in spicy Buffalo sauce, Mexican rice, black beans, pico de gallo, sour cream and fresh mozzarella.

Also on the menu are crunchy tostadas, bowls, quesadillas, taquitos, nachos and sopes (thin corn cakes topped with a choice of ingredients).
Among Chef Uzi's specialties is the Xtreme Corn Cup -- roasted corn kernels topped with dill-cumin crema, fresh mozzarella and chile powder.

For National Taco Day, Extreme Tacos is offering $2 Tijuana tacos and $3 Xtreme tacos all day long at the new SOHO location.
Extreme Tacos will also have its food truck parked at 7venth Sun Brewery, 6809 N. Nebraska Ave., from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
An official grand opening event will be announced at the restaurant's Facebook page.
