2 5-Year-Olds Hit By Car On Halloween In Pinellas Park: Police

Pinellas Park police said the two children were running across a road when they were hit by a car Tuesday night.

PINELLAS PARK, FL — Two 5-year-old children were hit by a car on Halloween night in Pinellas Park, according to authorities.

The Pinellas Park Police Department said the agency received a call shortly before 8:30 p.m. after a car reportedly struck two pedestrians in the area of 52nd Street North and 80th Terrace North.

Following an investigation, officers determined a gray Hyundai Kona was traveling south on 52nd Street North when two children darted across the road. The driver of the Hyundai struck the children with the front of the car, police said.

The children were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Both are in stable condition.

The driver of the Hyundai remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said speed and impairment were not factors in the crash.
