2 On Motorcycle Killed In Gandy Blvd. Crash: FL Highway Patrol

Motorcyclist, passenger killed in a Saturday evening crash on Gandy Boulevard in St. Petersburg, Florida Highway Patrol said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A motorcyclist and his passenger were killed Saturday evening in a Gandy Boulevard crash in St. Petersburg, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

An SUV was heading north in the driveway of the Goodwill store at 10596 Gandy Blvd., approaching a stop sign, around 6 p.m.

The motorcycle was traveling east on Gandy Boulevard when it hit the SUV, which drove into its path, FHP said.

Both the motorcyclist and his passenger were thrown onto the road. Neither were wearing a helmet, the agency said.

The driver, a 58-year-old Gibsonton man, was declared dead at the scene, according to FHP.

His passenger, a 51-year-old Phoenix woman, was brought to a local hospital where she died from her injuries.

The SUV driver, a 71-year-old St. Petersburg man, was uninjured in the crash.
