2nd Arrest Made in McDonald's Drive-Thru Shooting

The woman shot remains in stable, but critical condition.

As details continue to emerge about a shooting that occurred in a McDonald’s drive-thru Wednesday, the St. Petersburg Police Department has announced the arrest of a second person in connection with the case.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident has been charged in an unrelated shooting. According to the agency, Joshua Allonso Malone, 26, was charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and one count of felon in possession of a firearm. Those charges stem from an Oct. 19 incident during which three people, including a toddler, were shot at in the 3400 block of Queensboro Avenue South. None of the three were injured, police noted.

Malone, police say, was behind the wheel of a vehicle a bail bond team boxed in at the 4585 34th St. S. McDonald’s on Wednesday. Inside the vehicle, police say, was a man wanted on felony charges.

As the bonds team attempted to capture their subject, an altercation broke out and a woman in the front passenger seat of Malone’s vehicle was accidentally struck when a gun fired. One of the bounty hunters from Kyle’s Kwik Bail Bonds is responsible for firing the shot, police say. The bondsmen involved have not been identified.

The person the bondsmen were after has been identified as Deveon Stokes, 26. He was wanted on outstanding warrants for possession of cocaine with intent to sell, driving on a suspended license and failure to appear in court.
