40,000 Gather In St. Pete To Remember MLK's Legacy

An estimated 40,000 people lined 1st Avenue South in downtown St. Petersburg Monday for the 34th annual MLK Dream Big Parade.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- An estimated 40,000 people lined 1st Avenue South in downtown St. Petersburg Monday for the 34th annual MLK Dream Big Parade, the nation's longest-running parade honoring MLK.

More than 150 units including bands, dance troupes, city officials and local businesses paraded down 1st Avenue South to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy.

Police said the event went smoothly and there were no arrests.
