5 Things for St. Pete Today: Debt Ceiling, Dali and De Soto
With the clock ticking on the U.S. debt crisis, we have links to contact your politicians. Plus, today's poll: Will the 2011 Bucs improve on the 2010 team's surprising 10-6 season?

1.) Contact Your Congressman: With arguments on the debt ceiling raging in Washington and the clock ticking, it's time to let your representatives in Washington know what you think. It doesn't matter which side you are on. You need to let them know what you think is best, as a citizen of St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida and the US. Contact US Rep CW "Bill" Young or Senators Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio.
2.) Calling Volunteers: Bayfront Medical Center is putting out the call for volunteers. If you have some extra time and like to work with people, the hospital's volunteer jobs could be right for you. The hospital has a webpage that explains what volunteering is about at Bayfront. Why not check it out?
3.) Polite Conversation: Dali's "Our Town" discussions continue tonight with Charley Morgan, sailboat racer and designer and founder of Morgan Yachts. Cafe Gala will offer refreshments. Talk is from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The event is at Dalà Museum, One Dalà Blvd, or at Bayshore Drive SE and Fifth Avenue SE. It's free, but reservations required at 727-823-3767 or www.thedali.org/tickets. Hurry! Space is limited for this popular event. UPDATE: Soldout!

4.) Fort De Soto Reopens: The historic fort re-opened after some renovations were made to the structure. Why not head out to the 1,136-acre Fort De Soto? It is the largest park in the Pinellas County park system, with spectacular views of the ocean and plenty of bird and sea life. The park is a short drive to Tierra Verde.
5.) Today's poll: Now that football's back, we can start thinking about the Bucs. Here's today's question: Will the 2011 Bucs win more games than last year's surprising 10-6 team? Answer below.
