Accused SunTrust Bank Robber Behind Bars
The man was captured a few hours after the Wednesday crime.

The St. Petersburg Police Department has announced an arrest in the Wednesday morning robbery of a SunTrust Bank.
The crime in question happened at 9 a.m. when a man walked into the 6300 Central Ave. branch. The man implied he had a gun, an email from the police department stated, and gave the teller a note demanding cash. With a “large amount” of money in hand, the man took off on a bicycle, police noted.
“Using a surveillance camera photo that showed his unique tattoos, investigators were able to come up with a name and address,” the email stated. “Officers were able to confirm his identity through canvassing the neighborhood businesses and showing the photo to employees as well as the bank teller.”
