Tuesday, May 5. Harry Heumann will discuss the St. Pete Holocaust Museum and his personal connection to the horrific events it commemorates.
Kathy Rey, President and CEO of Fostering Hearts, spoke to members of the St. Petersburg Sunrise Rotary Club on Tuesday, April 28th. Fostering Hearts is driven by the sobering reality that less than 30% of foster children finish high school. Through a partnership with experienced educators, they tailor education to fit each child’s unique journey. “Our goal goes beyond academics,” according to Rey. Additionally, we provide consistency, mentorship, life skills, and a clear message: Foster children matter. We also utilize the accredited curriculum of Florida Virtual Schools when needed. With tools like insight tutoring, virtual support, and the GED program, we aim to provide education, life skills, and emotional support for a brighter tomorrow.
Guy Macarios is the latest member of the St Pete Sunrise Rotary Club. Guy has joined us at a few meetings, an evening social event, and TWO Service Projects! He and his wife, MJ, will be great additions to our club.
