3. Affordable housing planned for former Playhouse Theatre property (stpetecatalyst.com) — A 12-story affordable housing tower with 150 income-restricted apartments is planned for the former Playhouse Theatre block in St. Petersburg’s Grand Central District, with construction targeted to start in 2027. 4. Florida lawmakers gear up for special session to pass budget (wfla.com) — State lawmakers are heading into a special budget session that could decide nearly $3 million for flood and stormwater fixes in St. Petersburg’s hard-hit Shore Acres neighborhood, plus money to rebuild USF’s damaged marine science lab.
