ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Forbici’s new downtown St. Petersburg location at the Sundial officially opens on Wednesday.
The modern Italian restaurant, which has taken over the Sundial’s upstairs space that was formerly home to Sea Salt, has been taking reservations online since early June.
Sea Salt shut its doors at the end of 2024.
The renovated 12,000-square-foot space will offer indoor and outdoor seating and bars to diners at Forbici.
The restaurant’s first location opened seven years ago in Tampa’s Hyde Park neighborhood.
Forbici is known for offering a modern twist on Italian classics, including fresh pasta and Roman-style pizza.
“From pizzas and house-made pastas to fresh seafood, steaks, and handcrafted cocktails, our menu brings together classic Italian inspiration and contemporary flavors,” according to the restaurant’s website.
The restaurant will offer space to host on-site events, full-service catering, to-go pickup and delivery. It will also host live music daily and serve weekend brunch.
The Forbici concept was created by Tampa hospitality group Next Level Brands, which is led by Jeff Gigante, also co-founder of the Ciccio Restaurant Group.
