St. Pete-Based Coffee Chain Closes Flagship Location

A popular St. Pete-based coffee chain closed its flagship location after six years in business.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The Blend Coffee & Cocktails closed its flagship location at 1211 4th Street N. this week, after six years in business.

"After many incredible years serving the Old Northeast, we've officially closed our original 4th St location in St. Pete," the company's owners wrote in a social media post. "This shop will always hold a special place in our hearts. It's where The Blend began, where lifelong friendships were made, and where so many of you became part of our story. We are endlessly grateful for every person who walked through those doors over the years."

The closure comes about nine months after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization in November, according to St. Pete Catalyst.

Still, the owners promised that the closure "isn't the end of The Blend - it's simply the start of a new chapter."

The chain's two other St. Petersburg locations, one in Magnolia Heights at 3001 16th Street N., and a drive-thru shop with a cafe at 2760 34th Street N., as well as coffee shops in Tampa, Pinellas Park, and Palmetto, the owners said.

"We're excited to continue serving our amazing community with the same coffee, familiar faces and welcoming atmosphere you've always loved," they said.
