SEMINOLE, FL — Pinellas County coffee lovers will have a new place to grab a drink from Tampa-based brand Buddy Brew Coffee starting Friday.
The specialty coffee company is opening its first cafe in the county inside the Sprouts Farmers Market at 7263 Seminole Blvd. in Seminole, according to a news release.
Buddy Brew will celebrate the opening with a grand-opening event beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday.
The Seminole cafe's opening is part of a previously announced partnership between Buddy Brew and Sprouts to bring 10 Buddy Brew cafés to Sprouts stores throughout the Tampa Bay region and Southwest Florida.
The expansion includes locations in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Sarasota counties.
In addition to Seminole, planned cafe locations, according to Sprouts, include:
"Tampa Bay has been our home since the beginning, and we've wanted to bring Buddy Brew across the bay for a long time," Dave Ward, CEO of Buddy Brew, said in a statement. "We're thrilled to become part of the Pinellas County community and look forward to serving our new neighbors in Seminole."
The company currently operates cafés around Florida, including locations in Tampa and at Tampa International Airport, and roasts its specialty coffee locally in Tampa.
Friday's grand opening celebration in Seminole will begin with a ceremonial ribbon cutting scheduled for 9:45 a.m. Mayor Leslie Waters and executives from Buddy Brew and Sprouts Farmers Market are expected to participate.

The new cafe will serve Buddy Brew's menu of handcrafted espresso drinks, cold brew, matcha, smoothies, breakfast and lunch items, fresh pastries and seasonal specialty drinks.
