Annual Family Day Brings Record Attendance

Family Day was held Saturday, December 28, at Northshore Field in St Petersburg. The following players (with their family members) registered to play: Michaels, Budreau, Kauffman, Vander Syde, Anthony, Whittaker, Harrington, Kuvalanka, Calabrese, Curtis, and Kane. The event included music and face painting for younger players and fans! Kids and Kubs Members wore their game shirts. Dave Glauner and Ken Curtis cooked hotdogs for players on the field. Also mascot, Cubbie, to made an appearance. Volunteers operated the scoreboard and umpired. It was another great Kids and Kubs "Splash Day.

Family Day is an even greater blast than last year! We had so many players this year we had to go to 3 teams (hit, sit, field) rather than last year's two 5 innings limit. President Will Michaels suggested for next year's Family Day, we may want to have a speed limit for running the bases. Some of those grand/great-grandkids are really fast. (One of our captains almost got run down going from 2nd to home.)
