Antique Mall Theft: Person Of Interest Sought In St. Pete, Police Say

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Detectives need help identifying a man who may know the suspect who stole sterling silver items and vintage fountain pens from a St. Petersburg antique mall last month.

The items, stolen from Andrea and Friends Antique Mall Nov. 11 on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street N., are worth about $18,000.

The two men were seen together on surveillance video shortly after the burglary, according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.

The unidentified burglar hid inside the store until the business closed. Then, he crawled through the antique mall before taking the valuable items.

The suspect is described as an older white man, about 6 feet tall with a heavy build, bowed legs and a distinctive waddle, police said.

Detectives think he may be involved in other local burglaries.

The person of interest is an Asian man who was last seen wearing a black polo shirt, gray pants and gray shoes. He arrived in a maroon Honda Accord, police said.
