Antisemitic Flyers Found In St. Pete Little Free Library: Officials

Investigators are looking into antisemitic flyers that were left in a St. Petersburg Little Free Library, authorities said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Antisemitic flyers were found in a book exchange box near 123 14th Ave. NE over the weekend, a spokesperson with the St. Petersburg Police Department told Patch.

“This is part of a pattern we’ve seen where someone distributes flyers in neighborhoods periodically,” Yolanda Fernandez, community awareness division manager, said.

The incident is being reviewed by the department’s investigative bureau to identify who left them there.

In a statement, The Florida Holocaust Museum said that it’s “appalled to learn that more antisemitic flyers were foisted on St. Pete residents this weekend. This time, bigots planted their lies in Little Free Libraries that serve as wholesome symbols of community and education, making the flyers even more offensive. This disgusting behavior is part of a record-setting wave of antisemitism across America. Propelled by the lessons of the Holocaust, we must stand up and respond.”
