Applications Open For St. Pete Commercial Revitalization Program
The city of St. Petersburg has opened its applications for business district improvement projects and commercial developments.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Applications for the city of St. Petersburg's Commercial Revitalization Program that is expected to have $250,000 worth of commercial grant awards open on Friday, the city said.
The grants will be distributed to projects that involve future work on a new or existing commercial buildings or developments, improve business districts by redeveloping properties, decrease commercial vacancy rates, leverage private investment and add to the tax base.
The CRP will provide funding for projects on the city's eligible commercial corridors located outside the downtown core. This assistance is in the form of a matching grant, which will be paid at the successful completion of the project.

If you are interested in this program, the city said you should begin to compile plans and estimates for construction to be completed, as this is usually the most time-consuming portion of the grant process.
The application cycle for FY 2020 begins Friday and applications will be accepted until Friday, November 20 at 5 p.m.

Applicants must submit the required Commercial Revitalization Program application and all necessary attachments through the online application.
The city said available staff will assist applicants throughout the process and will provide information regarding the additional resources and availability.
