Arrest Made in St. Petersburg Homicide

A 28-year-old St. Petersburg man has been charged in connection with the death of Francis McDermott.

McDermott, 36, was found shot to death inside his truck in the 4500 block of 8th Avenue South Friday night. St. Petersburg Police say McDermott was supposed to meet a friend. That friend was arrested Tuesday.

Daniel Lynds was located by police at the Emerald Point Apartments, 350 73rd St. N. He was charged with one count of first-degree murder.

As of Tuesday morning, Lynds had not been fully processed at the Pinellas County Jail. Records, however, indicate he has been arrested in the past on drug-related charges and for tampering with evidence.
