The fifth annual Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg will be kicking off on Friday, Dec. 21 this year on ESPN.
The fifth annual Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg will be kicking off on Friday, Dec. 21 this year.Â
According to a news release, the game will be televised nationally on ESPN and will feature a BIG EAST Conference team against a Conference USA school.Â
"The Friday primetime kickoff will enable more fans from our community to attend the game while also showcasing our market to a national viewing audience on ESPN," said Brett Dulaney, Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg Executive Director in a news release.

"The switch to Friday night should be beneficial for the St. Petersburg tourism industry as well. Teams will arrive earlier in the week with their fans, filling up hotel rooms and restaurants during a week that is typically one of the slower tourism weeks," he added.

Last year, the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg Bowl hosted Marshall of Conference USA against FIU of the Sun Belt Conference. The Thundering Herd prevailed 20-10 over the Panthers, providing Conference USA its first-ever win bowl win at Tropicana Field in the first four years of the game, the news release said.Â
