Bicyclist Hits Car, Faces Life-Threatening Injuries: St. Pete Police
A bicyclist rode into a car turning onto 38th Avenue N. Tuesday evening, St. Petersburg police said.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A bicyclist faces life-threatening injuries after hitting a car on 38th Avenue N. Tuesday evening, according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.
Jeffrey Alexander Stowe, 59, was riding his bicycle in the curb lane of 38th Avenue N. at the time of the crash, around 6:30 p.m.
The car was turning left onto the road from 39th Street N at the time, police said. It stopped at the stop sign at the intersection before making the turn.

As it turned onto 38th Avenue N., Stowe hit the side of the car, causing him to fall off his bicycle, according to SPPD. He was brought to Bayfront Health for treatment.
The driver remained on the scene and the crash remains under investigation, police said.
