Bill King, Volunteer Extraordinaire, Makes Sure Race Fans Don't Have to Race Around for Information
Writer Tom Arbasak, a resident, race fan and Patch photographer for the Grand Prix, expresses his thanks to Bill King, a volunteer who coordinates Information Services for thousands of fans.
ST. PETERSBURG - Hundreds of local people contribute their time and energy for the success of the Grand Prix of Saint Petersburg each year on a volunteer basis. Without their commitment, it's doubtful the race would be the success it has become.
I had the opportunity to walk track side with one of these volunteers, Bill King, discussing his role as Coordinator for Information Services at the race.
Information Services are the people fans go to for maps, driver info, local resturants and special assistance relating to the Grand Prix or the Saint Petersburg area in general.
