Greg Dee, Chief Meteorologist from ABC News Tampa, will recount captivating stories about the four major hurricanes of 2004 on Wednesday, May 13 at First Presbyterian Church. In addition, he will provide valuable tips on preparing for the next “big one.” The presentation, which begins at 5:30 PM, will be held in the church Fellowship Hall, with easy parking in the lot off North Shore Drive.
This is one of the Beach Drive Forums, monthly conversations for the community with intriguing speakers on thought-provoking topics, held on Wednesdays from 5:30-7:30 PM at First Presbyterian Church, located at 701 Beach Drive NE, St. Petersburg. In 2022, Luka Šulić stepped back from the intense touring schedule of 2Cellos to make space for creativity and to focus on family life – he has recently welcomed his fourth child. For the new album LIFE, released on Platoon on March 22, Luka returned to his compositional roots to create music with an evocative sound world, enriched with luscious harmonies, soaring strings, and a cello line of transcendent beauty.
Luka’s musical foundation was built upon original composition and an innate skill in instrumental arrangements – this album is his debut as a composer and arranger. From a young age, he began developing works for solo cello, and he has always been drawn to the rich, expressive sound world of a string orchestra – a sound able to take the listener to greater emotional depths. The tracks on this album are from ideas that have been gradually forming for many years, and given space to nurture, they have evolved into Luka’s musical depiction of LIFE.

He is a member of the California Society of Printmakers, through which his work has been published. His work is held in collections around the world, including the United States Library of Congress Collection of Prints and Photographs. Russell moved to Saint Petersburg in 2023 and cannot overstate how thrilled he is to be with such a vibrant arts community.

~ Each participant will be provided with an instant camera to borrow and one pack of instant film.
 ~ We’ll have a quick instruction session on how to get the best results from your film &amp; camera, along with some creative tips.
 ~ Everyone will have about 35min to take all their pictures on a guided photo walk with advice if needed.
~ Digital pictures can also be brought and taken, and used to make Polaroids and lifts with my Instant Lab
~ We’ll return to the Morean and learn the process of carefully lifting the delicate emulsion carrying the image and transferring it to fine watercolor paper and other surfaces!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

“Healing Through Sound and Art” is an eight-part series that offers participants an opportunity to learn and rebalance the 7 main chakras, by using sound and art as a tool. With the intentional use of sound and art we offer participants a guided, multi-sensory experience that blends the physiological, mental, and spiritual benefits of sound healing with expressive and meditative art practices. Gillian Probert’s carved glass vessels utilize nature motifs to convey deeper messages about human emotion, aiming to reflect significant aspects of the human experience through natural imagery. Gillian holds degrees in Visual Arts and Business Management from Eckerd College.
