"The Dark Side of Art" explores how artists use unsettling themes to confront fears, psychological pain, and societal taboos. It bridges the gap between inner chaos and visual expression, revealing uncomfortable truths about human nature. Imagery in the artwork includes macabre and gothic, subconscious and trauma, the devil and evil, or a personal emotional struggle.
This open call juried exhibition features artwork in various media, including sculpture, by 22 artists from Tampa Bay and beyond. The show runs from October 8 through November 7 during regular gallery hours: Thursday-Saturday 11am to 5pm.
A reception will be held on Saturday, October 10th from 5 to 9pm during St. Pete’s second Saturday Art Walk. It will feature live Halloween themed music by Leon Barickman. A “Day of the Dead” celebration will be held on Sunday, November 1st from 3 to 6pm, including a costume contest.
