City Hall Stars To Challenge Kids and Kubs February 3

Mayor's team seeks to recover trophy after an 11-10 defeat by the Kubs

City Hall Stars to Challenge Kids and Kubs Saturday, February 3

Mayor Rich Kriseman’s City Hall Star softball minions will be seeking revenge Saturday, February 3 at North Shore Park (901 North Shore Blvd, St Petersburg) when they take on the world-renowned Kids and Kubs at 12:00 Noon.

The two teams have been playing tug-of-war with the Mayor’s Trophy awarded to the winner of the annual contest since 2001. The Mayor's team won the trophy in 2016 15-14, on Mayor Rick Kriseman's game winning triple. However, the Kids regained the coveted cup with a 11-10 victory last season.

The game is always competitive and brings together city employees against an organization that has gained national notoriety for the city throughout the past eighty-eight (88) years. The Kids and Kubs are the oldest senior softball organization in the U.S. going back to its founding in 1930.

A 12 Noon starting time has been set for the Mayor’s game. Which will follow a preliminary contest with the TASCO Teen Program facing off against the Kids & Kubs. Annually the Teen Program seeks to defeat the ol’ guys.
