The City Of St. Pete Offers Sandbag PickUp Locations To Residents
St. Pete has multiple self-serve sandbag stations that help residents and businesses prepare for flooding.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The city of St. Petersburg is reminding residents to prepare for the possible arrival of Tropical Storm Laura early next week.
St. Pete residents have access to sandbags year round at that Pavement and Traffic Operations Building, located at 1744 Ninth Avenue North.
The city said sandbags will be issued following the declaration of a tropical storm or hurricane warning unless direction and/or tidal conditions dictate an earlier time frame.

When an official warning is declared, the city makes sand, shovels and bags available to city residents at these locations:
- Northeast Park, 875 62nd Avenue NE
- James “JC” Turner Fields, 643 22nd Avenue S
- Northwest Pool, 2331 60th Street N
Sandbags are limited to 10 bags per household, the city website said.

Staff will be on hand to assist seniors and others who may be unable to fill and load their own sandbags.
Residents must provide with proof of residence (such as a driver's license) to receive sandbags.
During a storm-related emergency declaration, the Pavement and Traffic Operations Building will be closed. Residents should plan accordingly to visit the three dedicated emergency distribution sites listed above.
