Coastal Orthopedics to provide physician support for Premier Sports Campus

Doctors from the full-service practice Coastal Orthopedics Sports Medicine & Pain Management (CoastalOrthopedics.com) will provide physician support to athletes at the Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch under a new agreement with athletic training provider Premier Sports Medicine of Florida.

“We are excited to partner with the Premier Sports Campus and Coastal Orthopedics to achieve the goal of player safety with immediate onsite medical care for all events at the Premier Sports Campus,” said Adam Greenfield, Premier Sports Medicine president and head athletic trainer. “We look forward to working with the Premier Sports Campus and Coastal Orthopedics to create a top-rated athletic training room on campus to complement the onsite satellite medical stations we use for events.”

The 140-acre Premier Sports Campus includes 22 fields and hosts a variety of sporting events, including soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, rugby, football, Frisbee golf and punt/pass/kick football.

The Premier Sports Campus opened in 2011 and has hosted several nationally and internationally known events, including Florida Youth Soccer Association tournaments, 3D Lacrosse Blue Chip training camps and the Nike International Friendlies Soccer tournament.

“I feel privileged to work with so many of our local, regional and national athletic talents,” said Dr. Daniel Lamar, a sports medicine specialist at Coastal Orthopedics. “I am tasked with insuring that these competitors have the medical resources needed to perform at the elite level in their chosen sport.”

Future phases at the Premier Sports Campus include plans to host Special Olympics softball and baseball organizations, tournaments, camps and clinics, as well as various other special events for athletes around the area and country.

“My experience working with world-class athletes is not limited to the professionals like the Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Orioles and U.S. Soccer team,” Dr. Lamar said. “I am just as passionate about the rising stars in our communities and our local area high school competitors. It is extremely rewarding to serve the diverse mix of professional talent and aspiring superstars brought in by the Premier Sports Campus.”
