Cops Hunt Suspect Wanted in Fatal Shooting in St. Petersburg Parking Lot

An 18-year-old is wanted in connection with the Monday homicide of a man who was shot to death while in a car in a St. Petersburg market parking lot, according to police.

A first-degree murder warrant was issued for Chaz Bynum, and information is sought on his whereabouts, the St. Petersburg Police Department said this afternoon.

The murder victim, Emmanuel Isaiah Sims, 19, was in a car Monday at about 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Rajax Meat Market at 2327 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. S., when a supposed acquaintance of Sims fired at the vehicle. Sims was struck and declared dead at the scene by responders, His two friends were uninjured, police said.
