Cops: Sunglass Thief Wasn't Shaded From Camera

Now the St. Petersburg Police Department is looking for some help identifying the man.

The St. Petersburg Police Department is on the hunt for a man it says helped himself to more than $900 worth of sunglasses.

Its seems that someone strolled into Eye Designs Optical and Vision Care Center on Tyrone Boulevard on Feb. 6 around 1 p.m. and swiped three pairs of “Maui Jim” shades. Combined, the three pairs of glasses add up to more than $900 in retail value.

While the man got away with his haul, the store’s surveillance video caught him in the act. Police are now asking for help identifying the man in the video below.

Anyone with information about the case, is asked to call the St. Petersburg Police Department at 727-893-7780. Anonymous tips may be submitted by texting “SPPD” and the top to 847-411.
