Couple Killed in Murder-Suicide Identified

St. Petersburg, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department has identified the two people killed in an apparent Wednesday evening murder-suicide.

According to police, witnesses overheard arguing from an address in the 1900 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North around 6 p.m. and then heard multiple gunshots.

When police arrived, they found Sandra Sanchez, 39, injured and unresponsive on the front porch, an email from the agency said. She was taken to Bayfront Health where she later died from her injuries.

Inside the home, police say they found David DeCastro, 45, dead in the bedroom. He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the email said.

Sanchez and DeCastro were cousins.
