Court Martial Set for Monday in St. Petersburg Rape Case
The hearing takes place at the Coast Guard Air Station in Clearwater.

A 23-year-old Coast Guard Seaman faces a court martial in regard to a June 2013 sexual assault on a St. Petersburg woman.
The U.S. Coast Guard announced that it intends to convene a General Court Martial hearing in Clearwater on Monday in the case against Colby Bailey. The hearing will take place at the Coast Guard Air Station and will be overseen by Rear Adm. Jake Korn, commander of the Coast Guard’s 7th District, which is headquartered in Miami.
Bailey is charged with three crimes: abusive sexual contact, assault consummated by a battery and making a false official statement, a Coast Guard media release stated.

“The Coast Guard’s 13-month investigation substantiated allegations that Bailey, the sole member accused in this case, sexually assaulted the victim,” the release stated.
The hearing is set to begin at 8 a.m. Monday.
