Deputies: Teenager Sexually Abused 4-Year-Old Girl
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says a 16-year-old St. Petersburg boy has been brought into custody.

A 16-year-old St. Petersburg boy faces felony charges after Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies say he sexually battered a 4-year-old girl. The teen was charged Thursday in the case following a one-day investigation into allegations raised by the child’s mother.
According to the sheriff’s office, the little girl told her mother about the abuse and the mother, in turn, contacted deputies. An investigation into the allegations was launched Wednesday, the sheriff’s office wrote in an email to media.
The teenager, who Patch is not identifying because of his age, “admitted to a sex act with the child,” the email stated.

The boy was subsequently charged with felony sexual battery and was taken to the Pinellas Juvenile Assessment Center for booking.
It is unclear at this time exactly when the battery occurred. The sheriff’s office said inappropriate contact between the boy and the little girl occurred on at least one occasion over the past several months.
