ST. PETERSBURG, FL — As Kindred Carter’s family and friends make final arrangements, the St. Petersburg Police Department has released more details about the Feb. 19 crash that led to the 32-year-old’s death.
According to police, Pamela Renita Mason of Gulfport was driving south on 34th Street South around 8:21 a.m. Feb. 19. Mason was in the eastbound turn lane at 18th Avenue South in a 2005 Ford Taurus and attempted a left turn. Cater was riding a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja at the time, heading northbound on 34th Street in the median lane.
“Mason did not see Carter on his motorcycle and made a left turn into his path causing the motorcycle to
strike the right front fender of the Taurus,” the police department wrote in an email to media Tuesday morning. “Carter, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle and thrown into the windshield of the Taurus, then to the pavement several feet from the point of impact.”
