ST. PETERSBURG, FL —If you want to use the quick and easy option of updating your vehicle registration via any of the kiosks at select Publix locations in St. Petersburg or at the Department of Motor Vehicles on Wednesday, you'll want to call ahead to make sure the machines are in service, because the Pinellas County Tax Collector's office said the kiosks will be down temporarily for upgrades.

Officials said another option residents can use for vehicle registration on Wednesday is the online service found at tax collector office.

The purpose of the upgrade is to decrease paper waste and prevent printing issues at the kiosks.
