Shiso Crispy to Open Brick-and-Mortar Location

In December, the Shiso Crispy food truck announced it will open a brick-and-mortar location in the Tyrone Gardens plaza in St. Petersburg.

The entire plaza is being renovated and will also welcome a new Crunch Fitness, which is being built.

“It’s going to be so beautiful. It couldn’t have been better timing. It’s a 2,600-square-foot space that I’m going to be able to use as a restaurant, as a place to pump out all of the food for the trucks, and I’m also gearing up to start wholesaling our sauces and dumplings,” Shiso Crispy’s owner shared in an Instagram post. “The place is a shell right now and is going to take (five) months to be built. So many cool things in store. The place is going to be incredible.”

Gandy Boulevard Waterfront Bar Opening Soon

A new waterfront bar is opening soon on Gandy Boulevard.

La Cabana, the nighttime concept of Patrona Coastal Café, will start welcoming customers Friday, according to I Love the Burg.

It will offer whiskey and rum drinks, premium cigars, and desserts.

The Mill Closing Because of Construction Damage

The Mill is closing its downtown St. Petersburg restaurant at 200 Central Ave. because of damage to its building from ongoing construction.

“We are heartbroken to write this, but after almost a decade The Mill restaurant is closing. As many of you know there has been construction behind our facility for the last several months. What you may not know is the damage caused by this construction has been massive,” the owners wrote on the restaurant’s Facebook page. “It has become so invasive to our space that we feel we can no longer ensure the safety of our staff and patrons alike.”

The owners also promised to open in a new space in St. Petersburg down the road.

“We are sincerely sorry for this but know we will be back as this is not the end. Please check back for updates as we search for a new location,” they wrote. “It has been an honor to serve the amazing people of St Pete! We love you all!”

Its South Tampa location at 2500 W. Azeele Street will remain open.
