Driver Ejected From SUV In Fatal St. Pete Crash On I-275: FHP

A 22-year-old Lakeland woman died after losing control of her SUV in a crash on I-275 in St. Petersburg, Florida Highway Patrol said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 22-year-old Lakeland woman died after being ejected from her SUV in a Sunday night crash on Interstate 275 in St. Petersburg, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The driver, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, lost control of her vehicle near the 28th Street exit ramp around 8:30 p.m., the agency said.

She drove off the road and onto the inside shoulder, before hitting a guardrail and overturning.

As the SUV overturned, she was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, FHP said.
