Driver Runs From Crashed Car On Bay Pines, Dies At Hospital: FHP

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — A driver who ran away after crashing his pick-up truck on Bay Pines Boulevard was found unconscious and later died at a hospital, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The driver, a 57-year-old Seminole man, lost control of his truck around 7 p.m. while traveling east on Bay Pines, west of Seahorse Drive.

His Ford Ranger hit the median, and then redirected across the road and drove through a fence before hitting a parked landscaper’s truck, FHP said.

After the crash, he ran from the scene and was found unconscious by Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

He was brought to an area hospital, where he later died, FHP said.
