DUI Wolf Pack Set to Prowl Pinellas County
A number of law enforcement agencies are taking part in the crackdown on impaired driving over the 4th of July weekend.

Tampa Bay area residents who tip back one too many over the July 4th weekend will want to think twice about putting the keys into the ignition to drive home.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has announced a group effort to crackdown on impaired driving. That agency is teaming up with the Florida Highway Patrol, G4S Prisoner Transportation and the Tarpon Springs, Clearwater, Largo, St. Petersburg and Pinellas Park police departments to conduct a Wolf Pack.
Officers plan to hit the streets Friday night and will roam until early Saturday morning in an effort to “maintain a proactive profile over the holiday weekend on the highly traveled roadways of Pinellas County,” an email from the sheriff’s office stated. “The goal of the Wolf Pack is to educate citizens and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances.”

Motorists who find themselves incapable of driving are urged to seek an alternative way home. If friends or family cannot help out, calling a cab or AAA’s Tow 2 Go service provides an alternative.
