Off-Duty Firefighter Charged With DUI In Pinellas County: Sheriff
An off-duty Pinellas Park firefighter, pulled over while speeding, was charged with DUI on Gandy Boulevard, the sheriff's office said.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — An off-duty firefighter with the Pinellas Park Fire Department was arrested Saturday night and charged with driving under the influence, according to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Deputies saw Sean Murphy, 31, arrested just after 10 p.m., driving his car west on Gandy Boulevard, just west of the Gandy Bridge, 77 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone.
When they pulled him over, deputies saw that Murphy “exhibited multiple indicators of impairment, including the distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage, swaying and bloodshot watery eyes,” the sheriff’s office said.

He agreed to perform field sobriety tests “but performed poorly on them,” the agency said.
Murphy also submitted a breath sample and had a blood alcohol content of .128 percent. In Florida, it’s illegal to drive with a .08 percent BAC.

He was booked into Pinellas County Jail.
