The partnership plans to roll out 250 e-scooters into the downtown area, the city said.
A scooter station that is already set up is on Central Avenue near 22nd Street North. There are also some set up outside the downtown Hyatt Hotel, Museum of Fine Arts and Intermezzo on Central Avenue.
The introduction of e-scooters is a component of the city's strategic approach to improving and increasing mobility options through Complete Streets, a program designed to provide more access to transportation in areas with low rates of vehicle ownership, the city said.
If you're curious about trying an e-scooter, the city is holding a demonstration on Sunday at 10 a.m. in the Al Lang Stadium parking lot.
Riders can download the smartphone app for both Razor and VeoRide to locate scooters that are available for rent, find parking corral locations, and to set up their account.
