Emergency Sewer Repairs Force Walkway Re-routing On 2nd Avenue

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Some emergency sewer work will require walkers to re-route around a short section of 2nd Avenue N.E. for the next week or so.

One of the city's contractors was preparing a sewer main for Cured-in-Place Pipe lining -- similar to jobs that have been done all over the city to help tighten up an aging and leaky collection system.

During the pre-cleaning process, a section of cast iron piping broke and made an emergency open-cut repair necessary.
