Employee Tests Positive For Coronavirus At Rollin' Oats

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A Rollin' Oats Market & Cafe employee tested positive for coronavirus on June 18, the company announced via Facebook. The organic grocery store notified all of its employees, and a cleaning company has been hired to thoroughly sanitize the building.

The last time the employee worked at the St. Pete Rollin' Oats location was June 14, and has since experienced mild symptoms. They are receiving care and will remain under quarantine for a period of 14 days.

The business' Facebook post said they believe the employee contracted the virus at an offsite location.

The company told Patch that its employees have been required to wear masks since April, and at this time they are not requiring all of their employees to have a coronavirus test. If any of their employees show any signs of COVID-19, they ask that they get tested and follow their doctor's orders.

The employee who tested positive for coronavirus definitely had a mask on when interacting with customers, the business said.

"We would like to take this time to inform the public that Rollin’ Oats Market & Café is following all CDC, state and local public health guidelines with regards to one of our associates testing positive for COVID-19," said the company's Facebook post.

This past week they had a soft opening of their dining area, but as a result of this employee testing positive, they have closed the dining area in the grocery store for an added preventative measure

"As an essential, locally owned business, we remain committed to our community," the business said in a Facebook post. "We will stay open to service the community during this pandemic, and we will continue to perform all precautionary measures to ensure the safety of both our staff and customers. We thank you for your understanding."

Rollin' Oats is located on 2842 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N, and its hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
