The alternative-music station 97X (WSUN-FM) hosts a "Memorial Day Backyard BBQ" in St. Petersburg's Vinoy Park complete with bands, beer, BBQ, volleyball courts, corn-toss tournaments and more. Sick Puppies, Panic! At the Disco, and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus are among the featured bands. You are welcome to bring blankets and one unopened bottle of water, but no lawn chairs, umbrellas, or other food or drink.
