Ceremony to Honor "USS Honolulu" Veterans

The Florida Holocaust Museum presents this program designed to honor veterans of the USS Honolulu, which was launched on Aug. 26, 1937, and was moored in Pearl Harbor during the attack on Dec. 7, 1941. After being repaired, the ship served in the Pacific for 18 months, where her score card included one cruiser, four destroyers, four planes and eight bombardments, organizers say.

Today's program includes an overview of the ship's history, personal narratives from two veterans who served aboard the ship, a question-and-answer session, and a dessert reception.

The cost to attend the program is included in the museum admission.
