Christmas Concert to Benefit St. Petersburg Free Clinic

First Presbyterian Church to present benefit Christmas concert for St. Petersburg Free Clinic

St. Petersburg, FL, Nov. 18, 2011—First Presbyterian Church, 701 Beach Drive NE, St. Petersburg, will present the 2011 Many Moods of Christmas Concert. This year the popular annual Christmas concert, which benefits the St. Petersburg Free Clinic, will feature Ron Nelson’s The Christmas Story and lots of traditional carols.  It will be held Sunday, December 18, at 4:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The public is welcome.

The concert will be performed by the First Presbyterian Chancel Choir, the First Presbyterian Chancel Handbell Ringers, guest soloist Jason Burke, a brass ensemble from The Florida Orchestra, organist Jack Rain, and music director Tom Lippert. The Many Moods of Christmas concert has become a treasured holiday tradition at First Presbyterian Church. The concert is free, but a free will offering will be taken to benefit the St. Petersburg Free Clinic. In past years, this offering has provided a major contribution for the clinic, which provides temporary assistance for those who require help with basic needs of food, shelter, medical care, limited financial assistance, and referral information.

According to Music Director Tom Lippert, “Ron Nelson’s Christmas Story is a powerful re-telling of the birth of Christ that people will not want to miss. Add in all the wonderful carols we’ll be singing, and it’s a recipe for a wonderful Christmas celebration. This is our Christmas gift to the community, and we look forward to sharing it with everyone.”
